First released in 1973, the Nike Pre Montreal Racer QS was the signature running shoe for 21 year-old Steve Prefontaine, Nike’s first-ever sponsored athlete, who tragically died ahead of the 1972 Olympics, far from the true potential of his young career.
Keeping its original silhouette and the running technology of its predecessor, Nike constructed the 2012 Pre Montreal with a suede and nylon upper, the classic waffle outsole, and a vintage-treated outsole and foam tongue. On both the Navy/Blue colorway and the Black/Red, white was chosen for the leather Swoosh, brand tab and heel completing the old school look. Currently these shoes are exclusive to the UK at select retailers, including size?. via freshness
